You can take on the computer or challenge a friend in this online version of the classic game. There’s also an achievement board filled with lots of challenges that will really test your skills at playing Checkers.
Will You Play on the Side of the Dark or the Light?
Checker board games, also known as Draughts, are like a lighter version of Chess – same checkered board, but the checker gameplay is more action oriented, with your goal of getting across the board. And with the internet, you don't need any special board anyway – we've got all the online Checkers you need right here!
Play Checkers with a friend or play against the computer for an extra challenge. Either way, the classic gameplay remains the same: two players, one with dark pieces and one with light, take turns jumping those pieces diagonally across the board, one space at a time. Once you reach the other side you can make your piece a "king" by crowning it with another piece, and now this piece can move backward as well. Is an opponent's piece in your way? If the space on the other side is empty, you can jump the piece and keep it. If there's another piece next to that space with an open space on the other side, you can jump and capture that one, too! You can keep jumping until you run out of moves. Once a player loses all their pieces, or all remaining pieces are blocked in and can't be moved, the game is over and the other player wins.
But Internet checkers means that you can switch boards whenever you like, whether you want to play the traditional way in Checkers Classic or Checkers Fun or you want to step on the board yourself (or with your avatar anyway) in Big Shot Checkers. We've got Chinese Checkers, too! Whatever kind of Checker games you're looking for, this is where you'll find them.
