Get ready to celebrate with Piñata Cookies: Sara’s Cooking Class! Bake these viral internet-famous cookies from the early 2010s. Just like a real piñata, these colorful cookies burst open to reveal a treasure of candies hidden inside!

Stack up colorful layers of dough and cut out a secret compartment to hold the secret candy!

How to Play

Sara will show you how to make these cookies in easy steps. If you want to try it at home, tap the recipe button in the main menu to read the full instructions with all the measurements included.

Mix and Dye the Dough: Mix the ingredients in the bowl to whip up a simple sugar cookie dough. Divide it into six equal portions and add food dye to make six  different colors.

Chill the Dough: Flatten the balls of cookie dough and layer them on top of each other in a container. Put it in the fridge and leave it to cool for at least 4 hours.

Bake, then Cut: Cut the cold dough into slices as shown. Bake the whole slices in the oven for 12 minutes at 175ºC (350ºF). Use a cookie cutter to cut out the shapes only after you bake the cookies and while they are still hot. If they cool down too much, they’ll only crumble into a sad heap when you try to cut them.

Fill with Candy: Stick together three cookies using some frosting. Cut a little hollow pocket out of the middle layer. Put the candy in before sticking on the third cookie to seal the top.

Done! Leave your cookies to harden for 30 minutes before you serve them. Now, when you bite into it, all the colorful candy will spill out!
