Vex 1

Vex 1 is finally back! Now, you can finally play the original game that started the popular Vex series and its many spin-offs. We've restored the game so that you can play all of the original 8 Acts. The game even contains a playable Credits level.

Originally released as a Flash game, a playable version of Vex 1 has been very difficult to find since Flash was shelved at the end of 2020. We’ve brought it back so that you can experience this nostalgic masterpiece and see where it all began.

How to play Vex 1?

In the level menu, jump on any of the boxes and wait for them to sink down. This will start the level. New levels will only appear in the level map after you have completed the previous levels.

The aim is to reach the green portal at the end of each level. Avoid the spikes, buzz saws and other traps. Touch the flags along the way to save your progress. If you die, you’ll restart at the last flag you activated.

Use WASD to run and jump. You can cling to the walls and slide down to break you fall. You can also hang on to the edges of platforms. Run and press down to slide across the floor.

Controls

• WASD = Run, jump, duck
• R = Reset current level
• Q = Exit level and return to level map
• L = Return to last checkpoint

This edition of Vex does not feature the level builder that was originally included in the game.
