Moussaka: Sara's Cooking Class

Moussaka: Sara’s Cooking Class is a fun cooking game in which our chef Sara will teach you how to make a traditional Greek Moussaka. 

This dish is layered like a lasagna. It’s made with sautéed eggplant and ground beef, with béchamel sauce on top.

The recipe is included in the game, so you can make this dish at home and try it for yourself.

How to play Moussaka: Sara’s Cooking Class?

Look at the ingredients and tools on the counter. The images at the top of the screen will show you what to do with them.

This game is made up of 4 parts:

• First, prepare the meat filling for your moussaka. Cook the ground meat in a pan and add red onions, garlic, tomato pasta and tomato puree, bay leaves, and spices. When the meat is ready, set it aside.
• Next, season the sliced aubergine with olive oil, salt and pepper and sauté the slices in the oven on a large baking tray. Set aside when done.
• Next, make the béchamel sauce. You can buy it ready-made in the store, but it’s fairly easy to make by yourself. Melt the butter in a pan and stir in the flour. Stir in the milk bit by bit to prevent the sauce from getting lumpy. Add the egg yolks, grated parmesan, nutmeg, and season with salt and pepper.
• Now all the ingredients are ready to start assembling the moussaka. Place some fried potatoes and aubergine sliced on the bottom, add the meat filling, another layer of aubergine, and scoop the béchamel sauce on top. Sprinkle on some grated cheese, and bake the moussaka in the oven.

Your dinner is ready to serve! Cut the moussaka into square pieces to show off the layers you’ve made.
